Dell has launched the Inspiron M101Z, a new AMD-based sub-laptop with a new ultralight 11.6-inch addition to its Inspiron line, the first of its kind to feature an AMD processor inside. The Dell Inspiron M101z is a compact machine that’s perfect for the daily commute.
Despite only featuring a compact 11.6-inch screen, Dell M101z has a detailed resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, which promises to offer sharp images and enough space onscreen to display a couple of windows simultaneously – perfect for office or business use.
Dell M101z offers two processor options to choose from: the single-core AMD Athlon Neo K125 or the dual-core K325. Both feature integrated ATI RS880M graphics, while 2GB of memory and a 250GB hard drive make for an acceptable compromise between power and affordability. If cost isn’t an issue, you’ll also be able to spec a 320GB hard drive and up to 8GB in memory, which can store 142 hours of DVD-quality video, 38 hours5 of HD video or up to 80,000 MP3 songs, producing a formidable compact machine.
Dell M101z is equipped with a 1.3 megapixel Webcam, SRS Premium Sound with two 1.5W speakers, three USB 2.0 connections, offering support for peripherals such as external keyboards and mice, along with USB memory sticks, HDMI port, VGA port and 7-in-1 media card reader. Dell M101z has integrated 10/100 Ethernet and Wi-Fi (b/g/n) with Bluetooth 3.0 wireless standard.
