- For home users who aren’t gamers you can save about $100 if you go with the HP Pavilion DV6-2150US 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black)
- If you need good battery life, run higher end software, or like to game a bit go for the HP Pavilion DV6-2170US 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black)
- If gaming matters more than battery life you should probably look at other laptop lines but if you are sold on the DV6 go for the HP Pavilion DV6-2190US
- If you have a lot of older software consider the HP Pavilion DV6-2157SB Small Business Editionwhich comes with Windows 7 Pro (which can run older software in a WinXP kernel). It has a Core i3 and a 6 cell battery. It also has a different finish (“Plaid Mocha”) but I haven’t seen it so I can’t comment on it.
To wrap it all up: you can always buy more features for more money but if you are looking for a laptop with some higher-end features and upscale build quality this is an excellent choice. HP spent money in the right places and has created a high-end laptop at a mid-tier price. I think the HP Pavilion DV6-2150US 15.6-Inch Laptop is one of the better values out there today but I prefer the features offered in the HP Pavilion DV6-2170US. If you are a student you may want to check out HPs “Academy” program which offers student discounts (it can be hard to find on HP’s web site – just search for “HP Academy”).

Love this key pad and find it very useful when entering phone numbers, use excel, do any calculations, type in a credit card number, etc. The Toshiba Satellite A505-S6030 is on the big side so if you travel alot I would go elsewhere but for those that want a strong well rounded laptop/ desktop replacement at a decent price. This Toshiba Satellite A505-S6030 laptop is fantastic and should be considered.

Great Laptop at Great Price
I bought this laptop as a replacement for my single core unit. I was reluctant at first because I have never owned a Gateway PC. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. As a computer student in college I need a powerful machine and this is just that. Very powerful with the AMD Dual Core Processor and the 4gigs of RAM. The video card is great worked for every game I have tried even Crisis which needs a monster video card. The only problem I have had with this is it comes with Windows Vista(YUCK!!!). But as a computer student I had a licensed copy of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit that I installed as soon as i got it. I didn’t want to even waist my time with Vista. If you like Vista this is a very great PC to buy but if your like the 80% of the population that does not like Vista get the NV 5207. It’s the same computer just with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installed. As the headline says. Great laptop at a great price.
